History:  It's a love dance with a choreography which originates from "La Zamacueca "  (from Lima-Perú)  and from the chilean " Cueca ".  The name  originates from " La Zamba "(an ancient peruvian dance).  When it became a native dance, the handkerchief  was incorporated as an extension of the hand.
        Broadcasting:  Throughout the country
Position: In the middle extremes of the dancing square.
        Accessories:  A handkerchief
Elements: A walking step, an alternate step (2 steps at one time) and a tip toe alternate step or "sobrepaso punteado" (3 steps at one time).

Important: Bear in mind that the zamba step is equivalent to a half  measure.
